       SUMMARY

Design and drafting experience in Power Plant, Transmission and Distribution Substation, Electrical, Civil/Structural, HVAC, Plumbing and Piping, PV (Photovoltaic), and Telecommunication design/drafting. Extensive experience in the use of AutoCAD and MicroStation V8. Experience includes drawing production and design control, supervisory skills, quality ‌assurance/quality control management (QA/QC), document control and management. 2013-Present	Drafter Consultant, Linda Rogers & Associates, INC., Folsom, CA Duties include working with senior designers/engineers/project managers in the preparation of engineering and construction drawings (layouts, schematics, details) from rough sketches, verbal instructions, or from general engineering and design information on various substation projects such as, MRTU,SCADA, Radio/Microwave installations, DS0 Migration Lease Lines, ET-GIS Bandwidth upgrades, Microwave Radio replacement projects and As-Built incorporations for various substation projects utilizing MicroStation and other computer related products. Responsible for updating Facility Data Files sheets with new and or updated circuit information (copper and fiber), from field personnel. Accountable for the quality of design documents in accordance with client documentation and procedural process. Prepare and assemble construction package of all related documents (scope, JE, BOM, sketches) in PDF for project review. Manage personal task assignments to adhere to project scope of work, schedule and budget on all assigned tasks.
2014 - 2015	I&E Designer, WILLBROS Engineers (US), LLC, San Ramon, CA Assisted with drafting and design of oil, gas, water treatment, pipeline, P&ID and instrumentation, civil and structural engineering projects. Worked closely with engineers and project managers on multiple projects for a fast turnaround to comply with client deadlines. Utilized MicroStation V8 and AutoCAD 2014 to complete project tasks.
2012 - 2013	Student, Photovoltaic System Design and Estimation, American River College, Sacramento, California Learning Outcomes as a Student: •construct solar photovoltaic battery charging systems.. •identify tools and test equipment necessary for solar photovoltaic panel installations.  •calculate the amount of yearly solar radiance in relationship to shading using the Solmetrics SunEye predictor and software. •inspect malfunctioning components in a functioning grid tie solar photovoltaic system. •estimate the yearly power output (Wh/year) for a solar photovoltaic system using both the SunEye and the Pathfinder sun angle and shade predictor. •identify typical locations of electrical/mechanical failures in PV systems.
2008 - 2011	Electrical Designer I, WorleyParsons, Sacramento, California

PG&E, Pacific Gas & Electric- Lead designer/drafter for multiple Transmission and Distribution (69kV-230kV) substation upgrades. Duties include preparation of drawing request and transmittals, liaison between our office (contractor) and client (PG&E) office, file management, document control, training new drafters, designers and engineers in the PG&E processes.

PG&E, Pacific Gas & Electric- 10 & 20MW Photovoltaic Plant project, Prepare multiple Solar Station general arrangement site plans, one line diagrams, switchgear and main breaker drawings for client review.

Siemens Trans Bay Cable – HVDC Converter Stations 200kV- provided design assistance in the upgrading of protection and control, AC/DC schematics, wiring and arrangement drawings.

Cal Energy Black Rock Geothermal Power Plant, Units 1, 2, and 3 – 300MW geothermal project, Prepare process and ‌instrumentation diagram (P&ID) and PCS Distributed Control System Architecture drawings for client review.

NextLight Aqua Caliente CSP (Concentrated Solar Power) Parabolic Trough Plant Facility, 250 MW – Prepare P&ID drawings for initial client review, first phase. Prepare general arrangement conceptual layout of 500kV Routing & Switchyard location, overall layout of PV & CSP site plan and Power block layout for client review.

MMC Energy, Chula Vista/Escondido Energy Upgrade Project – Prepare schematic diagrams for transformer differential protection and 13.8kv switchgear feeders a 2x0 LM6000 brownfield retrofit.

PG&E, Colusa 650MW 2x1 Generating Station – utilizing PC-CKS, proprietary cable and raceway management program, (a Microsoft Windows Application) and PDS Modeling, (MicroStation drawing application), assisted in the design layout of cable, conduit, junction boxes, pull-point data, slop requirements and cable routing information for field installation.

PG&E Vaca-Dixon, Photovoltaic Project – prepared site investigation drawings for the layout of a 5 MW fixed-axis solar panel array; and a site layout of a 2 MW fixed-axis solar panel array.

Occidental Elk Hills Petroleum, 230kV Breaker Addition – prepared one-line, AC/DC panel wiring, line protection, DC schematic, relay panel and 230kv switchyard schematic diagrams for client review.

Calpine Mankato Energy Center – prepared Civil and Structural drawings of the foundation, section and details for a service water tank heater skid.

2008	Substation Designer/Drafter, Black & Veatch, Dublin, California

Duties included drafting and design of PG&E drawings, maintaining their standards of procedures for design, schematic and wiring diagrams for circuit breaker replacements and primary/back-up relays for line upgrades of their distribution and transmission system protection using MicroStation V8. Duties also included training other newly hired designers.

2004 - 2008

Senior Designer/Drafter, Transmission & Distribution, Sacramento Municipal Utility District, Sacramento, California

Duties included drafting and design of schematic and wiring diagrams of panels, terminal blocks, and electrical equipment designated for field production of circuit breaker replacements, transformer replacement or removal, and primary/back-up relays for line upgrades of electrical designs for distribution (69kv, 21kv & 12kv) and transmission (230kv 115kv & 69kv), system protection, control, and power system operations for substation designs using Auto CAD Map 2004 with Raster Design 2004. Coordination with project leads (designers, engineers, PM, field crews) to ensure ECN/ECO’s were implemented into project task planning, document control of substation drawing list, and the creation of substation Index to be linked with ‌AutoCAD using Microsoft Excel 2003 and file management within our corporate directory. Field survey/documentation of control houses to ensure as-built conditions were correct and updated drawings as necessary.

2003	AutoCAD Drafter/Operator Telecommunications, SureWest Broadband, McClellan, California

Duties included drafting of CATV and fiber design (Fiber-Optic Cable Systems), of aerial and underground cable for broadband residential and commercial service. Responsible for research using the Internet for Autodesk and other support sites for products and support and services that would enhance the productivity of the engineers and the department. Examples included simplifying drawing templates, blocks; attribute extraction, and changing drawing files into dwf, tif, gif, and/or pdf files for easy retrieval by those other than engineers. Also responsible for retrieving the latest drawing information using the ‌Spatial Info Program for as-built drawing information, and maintained management of drawing files.

2001 - 2002

Senior CAD Design/Drafter, SBC Pacific Bell, Sacramento, California

Drafting duties for wireless cell sites included drafting conduit and cable sketches to be used for the contract process with customers and construction, and entering the cost for each site in the appropriate program for all engineers use.  Pulled cable maps for engineers, showing point-of-feed, and coordinated all of the above tasks with appropriate engineers.

Drafting duties for HICAP (high capacity lines) included drafting new cable routes (copper and fiber for new CATV lines; pulled cable drawings to calculate buffering requirements; used Excel to prepare Lane Closure Forms (county and city) and transmittals to construction and other groups involved in the HICAP process.

Drafting duties for DS3 Provisioning: drafting of CATV (fiber) routes to customer premises included rod and rope drawings, plan map and fiber design layout. Pulled cable maps and manhole details and also researched and referenced previous jobs to complete projects.

 

 

2000 - 2001

Senior CAD Operator, URS Grenier Woodward Clyde, Oakland, California

Drafted new waterways, bridges and culverts for the demolition of and installations of many of ‌California's water districts. Strict adherence to the Army Corp of Engineers Standards and Specifications using AutoCAD Release 14. Responsible for completion of all designs received from ‌engineers. Multi-layering and multi-x-referencing used in all drawings.

1999 - 2000

Senior CAD Designer/Lead, Fluor Global Services, Telecommunications, San Jose, California

Design and drafting of new high density polyethylene (HDPE) fiber optic cable routes (boring and trenching) with manhole and vault installations for the cities of Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, ‌San Francisco, Palo Alto, and surrounding areas. Complied with City Standards and Specifications using AutoCAD 14.
